Zanaflex 4 mg

A prescription drug, Zanaflex® (tizanidine hydrochloride) is used to relieve muscle spasms, cramps, and other symptoms of spasticity. It comes in tablet and capsule forms, and is usually taken as needed, up to three times daily. There are three available strengths of Zanaflex: 2 mg, 4 mg, and 6 mg.

The dosage your healthcare provider recommends will depend on a number of factors, such as:

  • The severity of your condition
  • How you respond to this medication
  • Other medications you take
  • Any other medical conditions you may have.

Keep in mind that Zanaflex capsules and Zanaflex tablets are not interchangeable -- even in the same strengths -- since the body handles them differently. Do not switch from one to the other without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
