Ultracet® (tramadol/acetaminophen) is a medication that can be prescribed to relieve pain. It is approved as a short-term treatment and should only be used for five days or fewer. The medication comes in tablet form and is taken as frequently as every four to six hours as needed for pain.
Ultracet is a combination drug that contains an opioid related to codeine (tramadol) and a pain reliever and fever reducer commonly found in over-the-counter products (acetaminophen). While most people tolerate it well, side effects may occur. Some of the more common side effects of this product include constipation, drowsiness, diarrhea, and increased sweating.
