Tylox Drug Interactions

Antipsychotic Medications
Combining an antipsychotic medication with Tylox can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Tylox with an antipsychotic medication.
 
Barbiturates
Combining a barbiturate with Tylox can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Tylox with a barbiturate.
 
Benzodiazepines
Taking Tylox in combination with a benzodiazepine might increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Tylox with any benzodiazepines.
 
Other Acetaminophen Products
When taking Tylox, you should limit your total daily dose of acetaminophen (from all sources combined) to no more than 4 grams (4000 mg) per day. The acetaminophen content of Tylox is 500 mg per capsule. Taking too much acetaminophen could lead to serious liver damage or even death.
 
Watch for any other sources of acetaminophen, including other prescription pain relievers and many over-the-counter products, such as Tylenol. To be safe, all other acetaminophen products should be avoided while you are taking Tylox, unless you are extremely careful to limit your total acetaminophen use (from all sources added together) to 4 grams per day.
 
Other Narcotics or Opiates
Use extreme caution when combining Tylox with other narcotics or opiates, as serious side effects could occur. You should only use these medications together with your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
 
Phenothiazines
Taking Tylox in combination with a phenothiazine might increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. This combination of medications may also increase the risk of dangerously low blood pressure (hypotension). Talk to your healthcare provider before taking Tylox with any phenothiazine.
