Tapentadol (Nucynta™) is a narcotic used to treat acute pain that is moderate to severe in nature. The medicine comes in the form of a tablet that is typically taken every four to six hours. It is approved for adults only and is not available in generic form at this time. Most people have no problems with this drug, but possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, and nausea.
