Soma Interactions

Your risk for developing side effects may be increased if you combine alcohol with Soma. Interactions may also occur if you take Soma together with medications such as barbiturates, narcotics, sleep medicines, and benzodiazepines. Other Soma drug interactions may also affect the level of Soma in the blood, which may or may not change the effectiveness of the medication.

An Overview of Soma Interactions

Soma® (carisoprodol) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Soma drug interactions include:
 

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, including:

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Certain proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), including:
