Skelaxin 800 mg Tablets

If you have certain types of muscle spasms, a healthcare provider may prescribe 800 mg Skelaxin® (metaxalone) tablets, to be taken three or four times a day. This is the standard recommended dosage for Skelaxin, regardless of your age or weight. Skelaxin is approved for use in adults and children as young as 12 years old.
For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed. You can take the tablets with or without food, although taking it with food increases the levels of the medication in the blood, which may increase the risk of side effects.
