Drug Interactions With Ketorolac Nasal Spray

Diuretics
Ketorolac nasal spray can make diuretics less effective. If you use these medications together, your healthcare provider should monitor your kidney function, as well as how well your diuretic is working. You may need higher doses of the diuretic.

Lithium
Using ketorolac nasal spray in combination with lithium reduces the ability to remove lithium from the body, thereby increasing lithium levels. If you take these medications together, make sure to watch for signs of lithium toxicity, such as weakness, tremors, excessive thirst, and confusion.

Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your lithium levels while you are using ketorolac nasal spray and may need to adjust your dose.

Medications That "Thin" the Blood
Medications that have anticoagulant, antiplatelet, or thrombolytic effects may increase the risk of bleeding with ketorolac nasal spray. Always check with your healthcare provider before combining ketorolac nasal spray with any blood-thinning medication.

Methotrexate
Using ketorolac nasal spray in combination with methotrexate may increase your risk for methotrexate toxicity. If you are taking methotrexate, talk to your healthcare provider about using these medications together before starting treatment with ketorolac nasal spray.

Pentoxifylline
Combining ketorolac nasal spray with pentoxifylline may increase the risk of bleeding. These medications should not be used together. If you are taking pentoxifylline, talk with your healthcare provider before using ketorolac nasal spray.

Probenecid
Using ketorolac nasal spray in combination with probenecid can increase the levels of ketorolac nasal spray in your body, increasing your risk of serious side effects. These medications should not be used together. If you are taking probenecid, talk with your healthcare provider prior to using ketorolac nasal spray.
