Kadian Drug Interactions

When alcoholic beverages, antidepressants, or other narcotics are taken in combination with Kadian, drug interactions could occur. Several problems can result from these interactions. For example, Kadian interactions can reduce the effectiveness of the medicines or increase your risk of developing side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing.

An Overview of Kadian Drug Interactions

Kadian® (morphine sulfate ER) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Kadian interactions include:
 

 

 

  • Barbiturates, such as:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, such as:

 

 

 

 

  • Muscle relaxants, such as:

 

 

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:
