Flexeril Side Effects to Report

Some side effects with Flexeril, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Fainting
  • A rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
  • An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
  • Feelings of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart (known as heart palpitations)
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Signs of liver damage, including:
 
    • Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
    • Dark urine
    • Upper-right abdominal pain (stomach pain)
 
  • Seizures
  • Depression
  • Anxiety, agitation, or psychotic behavior
  • Hallucinations
  • Difficulty passing urine
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
 

Rare Flexeril Side Effects

Rare side effects occur in less than 1 percent of people taking Flexeril. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are due to Flexeril or something else.
 
These less common Flexeril side effects include but are not limited to:
 
  • A general ill feeling (malaise)
  • Flushing or hot flashes
  • Loss of appetite
  • Diarrhea
  • Thirst
  • Gas
  • Coordination problems
  • A spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • Shakiness (tremors)
  • Insomnia (see Flexeril and Insomnia)
  • Double vision
  • Increased sweating
  • Loss of taste
  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
