Flexeril Oral

A healthcare provider may prescribe Flexeril® (cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride) to help relieve certain types of muscle spasms. This prescription muscle relaxant is approved for adults and adolescents age 15 years old and older.
 
This medication is taken by mouth and comes in tablet form. Oral Flexeril tablets are typically taken three times a day and come in the following strengths:
 
  • Flexeril 5 mg
  • Flexeril 10 mg.
     
Flexeril only works to relieve muscle spasms caused by problems in the muscles; it does not help with muscle spasms caused by problems in the brain or spinal cord. Although most people tolerate this medication well, it is not suitable for everyone. Possible side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, and fatigue.
