Endocet Drug Interactions

Interactions With Endocet Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Endocet is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Alcoholic Beverages
You should avoid alcohol while taking Endocet. Alcohol interacts with the narcotic component  (oxycodone), potentially increasing the risk of serious side effects, such as extreme drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Alcohol also interacts with the acetaminophen (Tylenol®) component, increasing the risk of liver damage (see Tylenol and Alcohol for more information).

Anticholinergics
Combining Endocet with an anticholinergic medication increases the risk of constipation and dangerous intestinal blockages. It is best to check with your healthcare provider before combining these two medications, especially if you are not taking a stimulant laxative to prevent constipation.

Antidepressant Medications
Taking an antidepressant with Endocet could increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together, as he or she may need to monitor you more closely or adjust your medications as necessary.

Antihistamines
Many antihistamines cause significant drowsiness and can cause serious problems when used in combination with other medications that also cause drowsiness, such as Endocet. Check with your healthcare provider before taking Endocet with an antihistamine, including non-prescription antihistamines.

Antipsychotic Medications
Combining an antipsychotic medication with Endocet can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Serious side effects may occur. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
