Tapentadol Drug Information
If you are experiencing mild-to-moderate short-term pain, your healthcare provider may have recommended a medication called tapentadol (Nucynta™). This drug does have the potential for abuse, so special rules are in place for prescribing and obtaining it.
This medicine comes in tablet form and is generally taken every four to six hours. You should not drink alcohol during tapentadol treatment. Taking this medication with food can help prevent stomach upset. Side effects are possible with this product; common ones include nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness.
