Amrix Interactions

If alcohol, barbiturate drugs, or sleep medications are taken in combination with Amrix, interactions could occur. These drug interactions can increase your risk of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing. Other medications that may lead to potentially serious Amrix drug interactions include anticholinergics, narcotics or opiates, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), and benzodiazepines.

An Overview of Amrix Drug Interactions

Amrix® (cyclobenzaprine ER) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Amrix drug interactions include:
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Anticholinergics, including, but not limited to:



  • Barbiturate medications, such as:


    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)


  • Benzodiazepines, including:






  • Sleep medications
